What's Your Style?

Hamptons

Create a Hamptons Style Home

Hamptons style homes are luxurious, laid-back coastal and exquisitely detailed. If you’re looking for a style that is timeless and will never date, whilst also continuing to have a fresh look, then the Hamptons style is perfect for you.

You can swap between a modern Hamptons home, a traditional Hamptons home or a more provincial style Hamptons home by your choice of colour palette (think tiles, timber flooring & paint), lighting and statement pieces, such as your cabinets or benchtops.

How to create a Hamptons style home:

  • Keep it simple – the space should feel expansive and uncluttered
  • Invest in big windows with beautiful sheer curtains to let in natural light and add a touch of greenery
  • Use light paint colours like white, pale grey and duck egg blue on walls
  • Moulded details on vanities and panelled walls really capture the Hamptons style
  • Use cool, natural finishes like stone and marble for your tiles
  • Accessorise with a splash of colour that conjures the seaside – like blue and white striped towels

Traps to avoid:

  • All white everything. White wall paint and white tiles are the right base but the space needs to be balanced with other textures and colours
  • Cheap finishes. Hamptons homes are luxury homes
  • Harsh, artificial lighting, opt for a more luxurious pendant

Country Farmhouse

Create a Country Style Home

Country homes feature natural, worn surfaces, such as refurbished timbers and aged brass, and overall create a timeless and relaxed vibe. Period homes were built to last a lifetime and therefore possess a sense of timeless charm that is both casual and cosy.

Cosy country homes can also feature French provincial style qualities through select use of colour schemes. Country will give a more rustic look than the elegant styling that is a French provincial vibe.

When you’re looking for country interior design inspiration or country home ideas, it’s always a good idea to look start with a beautiful cabinets and  tiles.

If a traditional country style home isn’t for you, try a more modern country aesthetic. It combines modern colour schemes, shapes and materials with the rustic texture and warmth of wood, metal and stone.

How to create a country style home:

  • Work with your existing house features if possible – eg. exposing beams or retaining VJ walls – to make the look feel very authentic
  • Country colour schemes should include soft paint colours and and neutral tiles
  • Choose ornate, traditional style tapware and keep it matching throughout your home
  • Gold or brass features will add colour and interest, simply shop by colour to make sure all of your chosen fixtures match
  • Decorate simply with fresh flowers and woven baskets
  • Incorporate timber finishes throughout your home

Traps to avoid:

  • Turning your house into grandma’s house – leave out the chintzy accessories and keep it light and fresh
  • Getting too heavy-handed with timber – a little is good, but panelling the walls and ceiling will make the room feel like a Swedish sauna
  • Distressed everything – distressed furniture has its place, but too much will take you to a more Antique & Vintage style

Minimalist

Create a Modern Minimalist Home

A modern, minimal home design conveys the message of simplicity. Just imagine beautiful, subtle detailing, slender designs and muted pops of colour.

When it comes to modern, minimalist home finishes and accessories, we love light curtains and blinds, slimline tapware, subtle lighting, light timber flooring and simple tiles.

How to design a modern, minimalist home:

  • Use clean lines and geometric shapes
  • Don’t be afraid to mix and match curves and straight edges
  • Stick to a neutral colour palette – white, grey, silver, black, gold
  • Everything in the room should have a purpose – form follows function
  • Great storage is essential to keep clutter out of sight
  • Opt for cool, smooth finishes – like white tiles, light timber floors and sheer curtains

Traps to avoid:

  • Getting too clinical – the style is cool and light, but soften it with gentle lighting and curves
  • Going green – this is one style that doesn’t love nature, so keep the plants out
  • Feature walls – avoid the temptation to tone the starkness down with a brightly coloured feature wall

Scandinavian

Create a Scandinavian Style Home

Scandinavian interiors are designed with minimalism and practicality in mind. They are simple, clean, functional and full of charm. Our friends up north know exactly how to make a space feel mindful by incorporating shades of white and wood - think light wood cabinetry, matte iron pulls and white walls. The Scandi interior style is perfect for those who want an open space that is decluttered, provides a sense of peace and exudes warmth and comfort.

How to get the scandinavian look:

  • Work with a soft colour palette – think white, pale grey and pastel paint colours
  • In Scandinavian style homes, clean lines and minimal design are key
  • Keep it simple and stick to two tiles - one for a statement and the other to balance the room/the look
  • Light coloured timber accents are a Scandi staple and add warmth and texture
  • Contrasting textures enhance the space – try bamboo mats, textured tiles, sheer curtains and plants
  • Minimal doesn’t have to mean empty – decorate carefully with like wicker baskets, stylish ornaments and display shelving

Traps to avoid:

  • Being boring – Scandinavian design is minimal, but still ultra cool
  • Channelling the IKEA catalogue – hey, we all love IKEA, right? But make sure you don’t forget to inject your own personality into the room!
  • Making it too cold. Think sauna, not ice cave, with warm lighting and underfloor heating
  • Don’t overpower your home with statement tiles or dark timber flooring

Coastal

Create a Coastal Style Home

Coastal living is all about drawing your inspiration from the beautiful beaches of Australia, and bringing the calm serenity into your home. A coastal home colour scheme consists of blue and green hues, light woods and whites, which all help bring a sense of relaxation into the home.Coastal inspired interior design should be sleek, recognisable and clearly defined. It’s best to stick to beach-inspired colours, and it doesn’t hurt to sneak in small luxuries, such as smart home devices, to help everyday feel like a nice getaway!

How to achieve the Coastal look:

  • Choose light, natural finishes for tiles, cabinets timber flooring
  • Keep it neutral with cool grey tones, soft whites and blue hues - purchase some Tint paint samples to see what you like!
  • Accessorise with pendant lights and a sleek indoor ceiling fan
  • Opt for curves when it comes to selecting your bath, toilet and basin
  • Splash out on sleek tapware in chrome or brushed nickel finishes
  • Let the outdoors in - make use of natural light and open up the space with big windows and sheer curtains
  • Utilise woven baskets for storage

Traps to avoid:

  • Overdoing the blue
  • Going kitsch – no portholes or fishing nets!
  • Cluttering the space – keep the centre of the room open and decorate at the edges
  • Stay away from black tapware & accessories, this will bring a more Japandi or Traditional aesthetic

Modern Industrial

Create an Industrial Style Home

One thing’s for sure, Industrial look homes have become extremely popular over the last few years and it's clear that the trend isn’t going anywhere. An industrial style home is easily recognised by the use of exposed pipes, beautifully exposed brick and the combination of materials that include various woods and metals.

You don’t need to live in a converted warehouse or old factory to steal some industrial style.

How to achieve the industrial look:

  • Make a feature of raw materials and textures, such as concrete, timber and metal
  • Exposed beams, brickwork or pipework can add wow factor
  • Use neutral paint tones in any shade from white to black
  • This style is best suited to larger spaces, especially with high ceilings
  • Keep it simple, minimal and clutter-free
  • Black tapware is a great way to modernise the industrial look
  • Introduce industrial-inspired lighting - think caged sconces or caged pendants

Traps to avoid:

  • Overdoing timber – a little goes a long way
  • Worn features like rusted metal – “modern” industrial is clean and feels new
  • Trite features like cogs – it should feel like you’re actually in a warehouse or factory space
  • Don’t include any delicate fixtures, fittings or fussy details
  • Light or pastel hues aren’t welcome!

Japandi

Create a Japandi Style Home

What is Japandi style? Japandi interior design blends the smooth, crisp modern lines of a Scandinavian design with the functional and sleek elegance of the Japanese aesthetic and therefore creates a beautifully unique fusion between the two styles.

The key to nailing the Japandi design is to focus on creating a relaxing, calm, peaceful and comfortable environment. If you don’t add enough accessories to the space you can risk presenting a room that feels clinical and cold. If you add too many accessories and furnishings to the space you can risk turning your space into a Maximalist haven. It’s all about finding the balance - so our Interior Designer has provided you with some key do’s & don’ts to help you nail the Japandi vibe.

Whether it’s a Japandi living room, Japandi bathroom, a Japandi bedroom or a Japandi kitchen that you’re feeling inspired to create, we’ve explored the style in-depth so that you’ve got all the tools you need to create your dream Japandi home.

How to achieve the Japandi look:

  • Incorporate clean lines - look for lighting, cabinets and tiles that are simply designed and structured
  • Style your home with earthy handmade accessories
  • Contrast is your friend! The key to perfecting Japandi decor is to incorporate dramatic contrast. For example, you can incorporate a rich timber floor, with black tapware and accessories to create real contrast.
  • An essential element to Japandi design is Minimalism
  • The Japandi colour palette is borrowed from the current Scandi trend (such as soft pinks, greys, tonal wood, etc.) - however, there are subtle differences as Japandi welcomes deep navy tones, mint and emerald green and darker tone woods.
  • Opt for a neutral colour palette (check out our Tint paint samples to help perfect your colour palette)
  • Let a bit of the natural outside world in - add plants & a splash of green!
  • Keep the room light and airy to ensure the light enters the room to create a calm atmosphere, sheer curtains are great for this!

Traps to avoid:

  • Don’t use too much light toned timber, if this is what you’re drawn to then Scandinavian might be your style!
  • Keep the bright and bold colours away, they don’t belong in Japandi interiors
  • Don’t over-clutter the room with a lot of accessories and unnecessary furnishings unless you’re after a Maximalist style
  • Ignoring the walls - don’t forget to add warm tones and textures to your walls
  • Don’t flood the room with a bright coloured feature wall

Traditional

Create a Modern Traditional Style Home

A traditional style home is elegant, luxurious and, most importantly, timeless. The key to perfecting this style is to unite traditional design ideas and decor with modern technology and amenities. To start, it's best to combine light, neutral walls with a simple, floor tile so you can build on your space from there. The key is to make a feature of original details as that will really help with the modern, traditional aesthetic. Also, a simple panelled wall with a feature window will work wonders for your space!

How to style a traditional home:

  • Choose classic items that will stand the test of time
  • Combine light, neutral walls with darker floor tiles or timber flooring
  • Keep your tiles simple
  • Choose a stone or marble benchtop for timeless elegance
  • Combine the simple with the ornate
  • Make textiles a feature with soft-coloured accessories
  • Keep the space light and airy with sheer curtains

Traps to avoid:

  • Going small – if you have the space, choose a large cabinet and a spacious kitchen sink - go all out!
  • Over-accessorising – keep it simple with plants and luxury soaps
  • Making it look dated – choose timeless rather than old-fashioned fixtures and fittings

Mediterranean

Create a Mediterranean Style Home

If you’re dreaming of Southern Europe and wish to turn your home into a mediterranean style house, then you’ve come to the right place! Whether you’re channelling a relaxing summer in Santorini, Positano or Valletta, the best mediterranean style homes focus on an effortless and minimalist approach to decorating.

Mediterranean interior design is best described as earthy, ornamented and refreshing. Think whitewashed walls, natural/textured accessories, wrought iron elements and lots of light. Did you know, the mediterranean style is actually a subtle variation of Coastal!

Alternatively, if the mediterranean style isn’t quite what you’re after, then you may be drawn to the look of modern mediterranean interior design. A modern Mediterranean house is the happy middle ground between both traditional and modern elements of the style. You can achieve this by incorporating more crisp details, rustic furniture and colourful tiles.

How to style a mediterranean home:

  • Keep the space feeling light and airy
  • Maximise natural light - think big windows, sky lights and sheer curtains
  • Less is more!
  • Incorporate the use of natural materials - think wood, rattan, terracotta, linen
  • Allow natural imperfections on vanities, walls and floors to show through to add texture to the space
  • Incorporate graceful archways that stand alone as their own design statement
  • Style your space with sculptural objects - including decorative bowls, ceramics, baskets and vases
  • Incorporate mediterranean plants, such as a potted olive or lemon tree
  • Terracotta everything! - especially terracotta tiles

Traps to avoid:

  • Don’t make the room feel too fussy or cluttered
  • Avoid stark colours as they can make the space feel more clinical or formal (unless you’re after a more modern take on this style)
  • No plastic! This style is all about emphasising earthy warmth and natural materials, therefore, an overabundance of plastics would look VERY out of place!
  • Avoid closed floor plans, they don’t belong in a mediterranean style house

Boho

Create a Boho Style Home

A boho inspired home has a real emphasis on textured textiles, organic shapes and materials, rich earthy tones and a ‘more is more’ attitude when it comes to styling. This trend focuses on the use of natural elements to create an indoor oasis.

The modern boho trend has gained plenty of popularity recently, and it appears the trend is well and truly here to stay!

How to achieve the Boho look:

    • More is more – combine different colours, patterns and textures for a layered look
    • Take inspiration from North Africa and the Middle East – think mosaic tiles, coloured glass and bold prints
    • Don’t be afraid to go bold with paint colour on a feature wall, but balance it out with light or white walls elsewhere
    • Make the most of natural light with big windows, skylights and curtain or blinds
    • Cool the space with plants and natural materials
    • Textiles make a great Boho statement, so consider where you can use them – think rugs, towels, wall hangings and cushions

    Traps to avoid:

    • Mismatching is part of the Boho charm, but it can easily look like a mess. Put in all the things you love, then take out what doesn’t work. The room should feel full, but calm overall.
    • Poor ventilation – a home full of fabrics and treasures needs to be kept well aired
    • Faking it – Boho is all about displaying your personality, so accessorise with things that mean something to you

    Black Decor

Create an All Black Everything Home

If done right, all black decor will be both striking and timeless. It’s a colour that will never go out of style. From minimalist, to modern traditional style and any other luxurious bathroom designs or styles, black will always have your back!

How to style a black & white home:

    • Add playful prints or patterns to contrast with the stark finishes throughout your black and white space - these black & white tiles are a great place to start!
    • Don’t be afraid of marble - it adds a very luxurious vibe to the room
    • Create an interesting and stylish home by including contrasting elements - think timber flooring, a striking black and white wallpaper and matte black kitchen & bathroom accessories
    • Add a touch of nature to bring texture and softness into the space
    • Bring a sense of luxury to the space with some feature pendant lights to finish off the room
    • Use metallic elements to add layers to your space

    Traps to avoid:

    • Avoid squeaky clean black decor that appears sterile or clinical
    • Don’t overdo the black - there are many ways to do an entire home consisting of mostly black, but it definitely needs attention to detail
    • There is no need to select everything in one shade of black and one shade of white - incorporate different contrasts to bring interesting elements to the space

    Mid Century Modern

Create a Mid Century Modern Home

A mid century modern home brings a clean and neat feeling due to its relaxed, yet tailored design. It’s a real classic that refers to the resurgence of design trends that span from the late 1930’s to the early 1960’s, but in a fresher and more modern way.

It’s hard to narrow down very specific features for the mid century style as it has its hands in every pot in terms of the shapes, textures and colours.

The characteristics of mid century modern style can include timber accents - such as flooring and vanities, and a vibrant tile or paint colour, or on the other end, minimalist features that include clean lines and cool colours - both work!

This style can be as dramatic and sleek as it can be natural and subtle, it all depends on which way you want to take it!

How to get the Mid Century modern look:

    • Embrace wood panelling - when constructed well it can be a beautiful addition to any home
    • Add some modern flair with your lighting - oblong, wall-mounted lights are sleek and work beautifully on either side of your vanity mirror
    • Don’t be afraid to experiment with Tint paint colours - pink, teal, olive green, orange, just to name a few!
    • Implement a major tile statement - let your tiles steal the show!
    • Select matte finishes for your tapware

    Traps to avoid:

    • Avoid clutter where you can - don’t over accessorise
    • Don’t create too many design statements in one space - a little goes a long way!
    • Avoid making the mistake of designing your home to be too angular
    • Don’t use too much of one wood tone or colour

    Art Deco

Create an Art Deco Style Home

The bold structure of an Art Deco home is both captivating and nostalgic. The distinguishing features of this style are simple, clean shapes, bold ornamental or geometric patterns, rich colours and anything that feels exuberant.

How to create an Art Deco style home:

    • Focus on symmetry when it comes to selecting your Art Deco cabinets & furniture
    • Use your feature tiles to incorporate geometric shapes
    • Go glam with lighting - think geometric chandeliers and/or pendant lights
    • Opt for sleek materials
    • Choose a deep, rich tone timber flooring
    • Craft a pattern with your tiles - don’t be afraid to create a new pattern with your classic subway tiles!

    Traps to avoid:

    • Rooms full of antiques - one antique stool is enough
    • Make sure there aren’t too many contrasting bright colours & patterns - if that’s what you’re interested in then our Maximalist style might be better suited to you!
    • Avoid flowery or floral prints, these are more suited to an Antique & Vintage style
    • Don’t overdo it - you don’t want the room to feel stark and uninhabited
    • Balance the fine line between visually interesting & totally dated - too many zig zags, geometric shapes and rich colours in the one room will date it instantly

    Colourful

    Create a Colourful Home

Do you want to add some colour to your home but don’t know where to start? Interior Design is very personal, and is the perfect places to add colour to your life and allow your personality to shine!

In a colourful space, you can opt for eclectic styling as well. The eclectic style interior design decor can fall into different categories as this style picks and chooses from many other styles to create its own. Don't be afraid to choose that Boho tile and pair it with coloured tapware, as we've said, this is the perfect space to show off your personality.

Tips for creating a colourful home:

    • Be selective with your colour choices - choose one family and use this throughout the space to create continuity
    • Introduce a neutral paint colour in the room to offset the beautiful bright colours
    • Either fill your home with a colourful feature walls, or fill your space with colourful accessories - don’t do both, unless you’re looking for a Maximalist style!
    • Use the 7-2-1 method - Choose three shades: one neutral, one colourful (but light) and one bold. Then, divide these across the space with the ratio of 7-2-1.
    • Pair wall tiles in a deep colour, with patterned floor tiles (in the same colour family, just a different shade) for a bright and eye-catching room
    • Play with paint - it's an easy way to instantly add a punch of colour to your space

    Traps to avoid:

    • Overdoing your space by using a colourful feature wall and colourful accessories
    • Don’t paint without testing the colour first - order some Tint paint samples to see what you like!
    • Don't overuse colour, unless you're looking to do a maximalist style instead

    Popular Colour Combinations

When the time comes to make your colour selections, it's important that you combine complementary colours to ensure the room flows nicely.

    • Pair dark shades of colour with metallics to create a luxurious feel (eg. charcoal and gold look great together)
    • Light, pastel colours look great paired back with light marble
    • Use calming pale blues, greens and greys to achieve a feeling of tranquillity and serenity
    • If warm bathroom colours are what you’re looking for, use various shades of yellow and gold in your space

    Antique & Vintage

Create an Antique or Vintage Style Home

Vintage style homes are warm, inviting and, most of all, charming. They are spaces where weathered and distressed pieces won’t feel out of place, but instead are welcomed with open arms. Adding a vintage style sink to a modern space can help to create a real sense of timelessness and reference to decades past. On top of that, you can add classic patterned tiles, throwback colour schemes and vintage accessories to really finish the room off.

How to create a Vintage style home:

    • Repurpose older furniture pieces that are full of character
    • Use copper and brass fixtures
    • Opt for an all-white colour palette with some soft pastel accents
    • Hang an interesting antique chandelier
    • Incorporate mid-century accents, such as a wood-framed mirror, timber flooring & antique cabinet handles

    Traps to avoid:

    • Steer clear of black tapware and accessories as they bring a more modern look to the space
    • Avoid the use of modern, recessed lighting
    • Stay away from tapware that has harsh edges - square edges leans into a more Modern Minimalist style

    Maximalist

    What is a Maximalist Interior?

In its true essence, maximalist interior design uses ‘things’, ‘collectables’, and decor to tell a story. Maximalism is all about bright colours, contrasting colour combinations, vibrant prints, lots of furniture, beautiful artwork and colourful accessories.

Beware Minimalists, you may be converted!

    Maximalist vs Minimalist?

Minimalism has recently been one of the most popular trends, but now there’s a new top trend in town, and it's called Maximalism.

Maximalism is the complete opposite to minimalism. Maximalist interiors have an approach of ‘more is more’, whereas, Minimalist interiors follow a ‘less is more’ approach.

Maximalist home decor allows the colour, shapes, tone and texture do all of the talking. It’s a style that is completely unique, attention grabbing, exciting, vibrant and anything but boring!

How to achieve a Maximalist aesthetic:

    • Colour! Lots and lots of colour! Use any colour that you love and create bold contrast with bright paint colour combinations
    • Don’t be afraid to incorporate vibrant patterned wallpaper, tiles and furniture.
    • Fill every inch of an accent wall with artwork - you can have multiple gallery walls - more is more!
    • The maximalist aesthetic is a friend for book lovers! There is no limit to the amount of books you can have on display. Place them on shelves, on the floor, on coffee tables...place them everywhere!
    • The key is to GET CREATIVE! Homes can often be seen as functional, minimal spaces - take this opportunity to be creative to design a maximalist home that oozes personality

    Traps to avoid:

    • Avoid having too many bright colours with no blend
    • Don’t over accessorise rooms with hundreds of small accessories
    • Opt out of using too much white - that isn’t the maximalist style!
    • Avoid using different colours in different rooms with no real flow between them - it’s important to keep your rooms somewhat cohesive

Eclectic styling can even be used in a Maximalist space, as more is more with this style, right! Eclectic style interior design pulls different traits from many different styles to create its own look. What better way to include eclectic style decor than in a Maximalist space! Toe the line with your styling choices if you want bold and exciting and mix and match your decor choices to create that unique style that is YOU.

     Retro Flair

    Create a Retro Style Home

Are you feeling nostalgic for the good old days? Sounds like it’s about time for you to bring the past into the present, and update your home into the ultimate retro throwback!

Firstly, it’s important to select your era so you can base the rest of your decisions around your chosen year - this will help you to decide on your overall retro home decor. Once you’ve chosen your year, make sure you immerse yourself in the culture by watching the films and listening to the music so your creativity can start to flow!

How to create a retro flair home:

    • Pick an era and stick to it – 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s are all great for retro inspiration
    • Add modern touches that are sympathetic to the style so it doesn’t just feel like an old room
    • Experiment with colour and don’t be afraid to mix it up – green and pink, blue and yellow, orange and brown, green and orange, etc. - whatever you like!
    • Stick to light paint on walls so the colour is not overwhelming and use a few statement pieces in stronger tones
    • Opt for a pedestal sink for a real retro flair
    • Wallpaper or artwork (or both) are great for evoking a bygone era
    • The right tiles are essential – do your homework on the colours and patterns that will work best

    Traps to avoid:

    • Mixing incongruous styles – like 70s paisley prints with 50s diner tiles
    • Being too literal – after all, you don’t actually want a 1950s home! Find clever ways to pay homage to the era with a modern aesthetic
    • Making the space feel closed in - the style needs to be adapted to the size of the room

    Hotel Luxe

    Create a Luxurious Home

Have you ever stayed at a luxury hotel and wished that you never had to leave? Are you sick of Googling luxe home interiors and want to make your dream a reality?

    • Tapware should be simple and sleek in black, chrome or gold
    • Choose a big bathtub or a spa bath for the ultimate hotel feel
    • Accessorise with beautiful candles, soft towels and statement pendant lighting
    • Ensure there’s plenty of storage to keep surfaces free of clutter

    Traps to avoid:

    • Harsh lighting – you want a hotel, not a motel! Keep it soft with downlights and dimmers
    •  keep the space feeling open

    Steampunk

    Create a Steampunk Style Home

Steampunk home decor often embraces an industrial aesthetic and mixes elegant interiors with an industrial or mechanical style. Steampunk fixtures include materials like copper, brass, granite, corrugated steel and any other mechanical pieces to incorporate the 19th century. Black, copper tones, dark timber and patterned finishes are right on trend for Steampunk interior design.

How to achieve the steampunk look:

    • This is one style where going dark is mandatory! Go for black tiles and deep tone painted feature walls
    • Exposed copper pipe is the essence of this style – go one step further with a copper toned basin and rose gold or black tapware and accessories
    • Dark, patterned Victorian era wallpaper makes a great statement
    • Accent with rich timber flooring
    • Use pendant lights and wall lights (with exposed bulbs) to add drama to the room
    • Mix old and new – try an antique lamp or clock

    Traps to avoid:

    • Breaking the rules – exposed pipe may not be allowed by your local council, so check first and fake it if necessary
    • Overdoing the copper – use as little as you need to create a steampunk environment
    • Too much steam punk décor – don’t be afraid that no one will get it if you don’t spell it out. A simple Victorian wall print will do the trick.

    Traps to avoid:

    • Overdoing the gold - your home doesn’t need to be all gold everything!

    • Don’t use too many metallics! - Your home will start to feel like a hall of mirrors

Are you wondering how to achieve the ultimate level of relaxation? It all starts with the colour scheme. Spas are meant to exude cleanliness, brightness and purity, so a warm off-white tint paint colour is the perfect starting point. From there, you can build on your spa interior by installing a neutral and simple tile to keep the sense of calm in the room, and furnish your bathroom with a vanity or shaving cabinet that incorporates natural wood.

How to achieve a luxurious spa-style home:

    • Retreat is the key word here – your home should be an oasis full of tasteful and luxurious items
    • Make the bath your bathroom centrepiece – go for a stunning freestanding bath or a relaxing spa bath
    • Choose earthy, natural tones and textures – like cream and chocolate, warm timber flooring and soft coloured stone
    • Accessorise with candles and flowers to recreate that day spa atmosphere
    • Use soft lighting
    • Don’t skimp on the things that really make your home feel like a sanctuary – install luxuries like underfloor heating

    Traps to avoid:

    • Compromising on quality – if you want a luxurious feel, you need high-end fixtures
    • Clutter – display your trinkets but make sure everything has a place!
    • Anything clashing – spa retreat style is all about harmony. If you're looking for mismatched prints and colours, Maximalist is your style!

The other top smart home devices include:

    • Smart Toilets

    • Smart Home Security
    • Underfloor heating systems
    • Smart taps
    • Automatic soap dispensers
    • Smart thermostat
    • Smart scale

    ...just to name a few!

Over the coming years, smart homes will increasingly become more and more common until they are the norm, much the same as most other technology!
